Brad Pitt wins custody dispute

The court ruled that Brad Pitt was entitled to equal custody of his ex-wife Angelina Jolie, after 5 years of being a single star.

According to TMZ, Brad Pitt won and Angelia Jolie "lost heavily" in the trial on May 26. Us Magazine cited court documents: "Jolie's testimony lacks authenticity on several key points, and the existing child custody order between the parties must be modified, at the request of Mr. kids".

The court's decision is in line with Brad Pitt's wishes after the divorce: the star couple will equally share childcare time, legal guardianship. Their eldest child – Maddox (19 years old) – does not need parental protection. Since they split in 2016, Angelina Jolie has single custody of six children.

Before the trial, Angelina was upset because her children were not allowed to testify in court. The star's representative sent a letter to the court criticizing Judge John Ouderkirk for refusing to listen to the testimony of her children. The actress repeatedly asked to replace judge John W. Ouderkirk - presiding over the divorce, claiming that this person hid his relationship with Brad Pitt's lawyer.

Brad Pitt's side said that Angelina Jolie's team was the one who introduced Ouderkirk to the star couple. He used to do marriage procedures for Jolie and Pitt in 2014. According to Brad Pitt, the only reason they asked to fire him was because they felt they were most likely to lose the lawsuit, wanted to buy time.

During the noisy divorce, many rumors suggested that Brad Pitt's loud and abusive Maddox was the reason why Jolie decided to break up. In June 2020, the actor was first caught appearing at his ex-wife's house after the breakup. However, the relationship continued to deteriorate when the two disputed custody of the child in a trial two months later. Brad Pitt asked the court to divide his time with his children, but Jolie did not agree.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt met while filming the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith (2005). Pitt then divorced his then-wife, Jennifer Aniston, to date Jolie. The two married in 2014, have six children together. In 2016, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences of opinion.
